Thoughts on Migne & Logos

I wrote a post a while ago about Logos Bible Software having Migne’s Patrologia Cursus Completus, Series Graeca, Part 1 (Vols. 1–18 ) in Pre-Publication.

There was a good amount of discussion about the price being too high, especially considering there was no guarrantee of the books being morphologically tagged.

But it occurred to me today that even if the books aren’t tagged by Logos (which don’t know yet), we would still have access to morphological description at the click of the mouse simply because Logos links to Perseus’ parser if they cannot find an appropriate link within the program itself. Basically, for all intents and purposes, the text is tagged.

I do hope this works out. The possibility of having Origen’s texts directly accessible, not to mention dozens of other authors that are difficult to find in Greek as well.

And please don’t fill the comment box with links to other places where I can download PG & PL volumes. I already know where they are. I want them integrated into my digital library.

But again, the point of this post is to point out that even if the volumes are not “officially” tagged. Morphology and lexica are still quite accessible.
