A Chicago Sunrise

Not exactly my typical sort of post.

Maybe you can file this in the “Things I do when I’m not studying Greek” category or something.

I do enjoy photography, if only at a rather amateur level. I especially love shooting nature. Don’t ask why. I just do. Sadly, I lost two hundred pictures or so with my hard drive. That was the biggest loss – at least until I next visit my parents and retrieve my backups.

I took the picture below at around 5:30 AM one morning in Chicago in 2006. I hadn’t slept well that night so I walked to the lake on Oak Street and then north to the North Avenue pier, where I took pictures of the sunrise. It was probably one of the most amazing sights I have ever seen.
